When the Foundation Model Eats Your Roadmap: A Founder's Roundtable
Six months of runway. A defensible product. Then OpenAI ships a feature update, and your moat is gone overnight.
If you're building in AI or software, this isn't a hypothetical—it's the question keeping founders up at night. Join us for a candid roundtable tackling the sharpest challenge in startup building today:
How do you know if what you're building is defensible when foundation models are evolving faster than your product roadmap?
We'll dig into the real questions founders are wrestling with:
This is a working session for founders navigating this exact tension right now, moderated by a serial entrepreneur currently building two companies simultaneously and living this challenge firsthand.
Whether you're pre-seed and still validating your wedge, or post-Series A and defending your position, you'll leave with sharper frameworks for evaluating your own defensibility—and language to use with investors who are asking the same hard questions.
Let's talk about the elephant in every AI startup's room
Roundtable Two
Your Product Isn't the Problem. Your Distribution Is.
Thanks to AI, spinning up a working product is faster and cheaper than ever. So why do most founders still fail?
Distribution.
The real bottleneck in 2026 isn't writing code — it's getting your product into the hands of real users, profitably and repeatably. Which channels work? What does customer acquisition really cost? And how do you know if you've found a scalable growth engine or just a lucky spike?
Join us for "Cracking Distribution: The Founder's Guide to Customer Acquisition in the AI Era"
This session cuts through the noise on growth hacking myths and gets tactical:
Who should attend: Founders, product leads, and early-stage marketers who've built something valuable and now need it to reach the people who'll pay for it.
Your host is a serial entrepreneur who has built, scaled, and sold multiple startups — and learned (often the hard way) that a great product with no distribution strategy is just an expensive hobby.
Bring your product. Leave with a distribution plan.
“When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure.” —Goodhart’s Law
Of course you need to measure. But what?
Which numbers give us something meaningful, and which are there to sell us more of their thing rather than helping us sell more of ours?
Let’s look at some real-life brand-building examples of what works, get a clear idea of how to separate the signal from the noise, and put our attention on the things that matter.

Municipalities across the world face a myriad of challenges, from providing affordable housing and solutions for
unhoused individuals, to policing effectively, to providing municipal services that are both powerful and cost-effective. The options municipalities have to innovate are sometimes limited, given limited budgets and skill-sets. But once in a while there is a city that has ideas and resources. One such city is Cambridge, Massachusetts. One of the denser cities in the US, and one of the better-funded cities. It is led by a council of nine citizens.
In this session, which will also be recorded for Tim's podcast Where Innovation Happens, Tim will interview MIT-graduate Cambridge City Councillor Burhan Azeem, who is also a candidate for State Senate. The conversation will focus on the key challenges of the city and how innovation can be leveraged, and incorporated, to help it do its job better.
